CONTINUOUS AND AUTOMATIC WATER HARDNESS ANALYZER
What is the hardness of water?
Water hardness is a measure of the amount of Ca2+ and Mg2+ in water. Hardness is usually expressed in terms of the equivalent quantity of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in milligrams per litre or parts per million.
Harm of hard water
Hard water causes many harmful affecting human life and health. For example: In cleaning, hard water reduces the ability of foaming and washing of detergents. The fabric will rot quickly, clothes will damage, skin & hair will be dry if hard water uses for bathing and washing… In cooking, this will make the equipments, water heaters, boilers quickly deposit and damage.
Not only that, in manufacturing industry, hard water can result in deposits of calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate and magnesium hydroxide inside pipes, boilers and turbine, causing lower water flows and making for less efficient heating. The ions in hard water can also corrode metal pipes through galvanic corrosion. Hard water uses in the process effect the quality and taste of the product.
For these reasons, water hardness control is one of the top priority issues in manufacturing industry.
