Automated Tank Gauging System For Jet A1 Fuel Storage Terminal 2025
At fuel depots, an Automated Tank Inventory Management System plays a crucial role in:
Monitoring fuel inventory in real-time.
Ensuring operational safety.
Improving operational efficiency and optimizing depot management.
Building on the success of the 2024 Automated Tank Gauging System project at the Da Nang Jet A1 depot, NK Engineering was once again trusted by the client to successfully deploy a similar system for the Jet A1 fuel storage terminal in Hue in 2025.
The system is built on state-of-the-art measuring devices from Endress+Hauser, including:
Micropilot NMR84 – A high-accuracy Radar level device with a precision of ±0.5mm. It meets the relevant requirements according to OIML R85, API 3.1B, and has received model approval from Vietnam’s Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality for custody transfer.
Tank Scanner NXA820 – A data acquisition unit with an integrated web server-based management software.
Prothermo NMT81 – A multi-point temperature sensor that continuously and accurately monitors the fuel temperature inside the tank.
Liquiphant FTL51B – A tank overfill prevention device that ensures safety during the filling process.
All devices are certified with the international safety standard SIL2/3 – IEC 61508, making them suitable for environments with strict safety and explosion-prevention requirements. Additionally, the system is integrated with alarms, beacons, and an automatic pump control interlock.
With our expertise and capacity in industrial measurement and automation, NK Engineering is committed to providing customers with a comprehensive, turnkey solution – from design, supply, and installation to training and operational handover. This “turnkey solution” empowers businesses to manage their operations efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
