According to Decree 08/2022/ND-CP, facilities with high discharge volumes or classified as high-risk must install automated monitoring stations that transmit data directly to environmental management authorities. Simultaneously, Circular 10/2021/TT-BTNMT sets technical standards for wastewater monitoring, mandating key parameters such as pH, TSS, COD, ammonia, and flow rate, along with strict data storage and transmission requirements.

Core Components of the Monitoring System:

NK Engineering’s automated wastewater monitoring solution is a fully integrated system comprising four main components:

     1.  Wastewater Monitoring Station

    • Flexible design: containerized, stainless steel cabinet, or fixed station tailored to each plant’s requirements.

    • Fully equipped with operational infrastructure: air conditioning, fire and smoke alarms, surveillance cameras, lighting, and safety systems.

    • Ensures stable environmental conditions for analytical equipment to operate accurately and reliably.

      2.  Automated Measurement and Analysis System

The primary measurement devices used in the monitoring system are highly reliable instruments supplied by Endress+Hauser.

    • Multi-parameter analytical devices (Memosens technology) continuously measure key regulated parameters:
      • pH sensor – Memosens CPF81E (with integrated temperature sensor)
      • Turbidity sensor – Turbimax CUS51D
      • COD sensor – Viomax CAS51D
      • Ammonium sensor – ISEmax CAS40D
      • Multi-channel signal transmitter – Liquiline CM44x
    • Depending on specific requirements, the system can be further integrated with:
      • Total Nitrogen analyzer – CA80TN Analyzer
      • Total Phosphorus analyzer – CA80TP Analyzer
      • Other parameters as requested
    • For real-time monitoring of discharge flow rate:
      • Electromagnetic flowmeter Promag W 400: measures influent wastewater flow through pipelines
      • Ultrasonic flowmeters Prosonic FMU90 & FDU90: measure effluent wastewater flow in open channels
    • Automatic sampling system Liquistation CSF48: Upon detection of any parameter exceeding thresholds, the sampler automatically collects samples into containers and maintains them at 4°C as per regulations.

      3.  Control and Data Transmission System

    • Central PLC Control Cabinet: Coordinates all operations of the monitoring station.
    • Beckhoff Data Logger: Collects, stores, and transmits data directly to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment’s portal in compliance with regulations.
    • Central Monitoring Software: NK Engineering deploys internal monitoring software with a web server interface. Monitoring data is visualized in real-time charts, providing timely alerts for any parameter violations.
