Electromagnetic Flowmeter
Promag – Endress+Hauser Electromagnetic Flowmeter
With more than 3 million devices installed worldwide, Endress+Hauser is a pioneer in electromagnetic flow measurement technology. The Promag series delivers outstanding accuracy, high reliability, and long service life, enabling industries to optimize operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Measuring Principle of the Promag Electromagnetic Flowmeter
The electromagnetic flowmeter operates based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. When a conductive liquid flows through a measuring tube surrounded by a magnetic field, the charged particles within the fluid generate an induced voltage.
This voltage is detected by the electrodes and is directly proportional to the flow velocity, allowing for an accurate calculation of the volumetric flow rate. Thanks to this principle, the measurement is unaffected by:
-
- Pressure, temperature, or viscosity of the liquid
- Multiphase flow or fluids containing non-homogeneous impurities
